This one-off documentary was produced for the BBC’s Partition season. Presented by film director Gurinder Chadha, the film examines how and why the Partition of India happened back in 1947. Gurinder takes a very personal journey back to Delhi, Shimla and Calcutta to discover how politicians stirred up public feeling to demand the creation of the new state of Pakistan, and she travels back to London to find out what role the British played.
